Hank Oster is senior vice president and chief operating officer of Comcast Spotlight, the advertising sales division of Comcast Cable that brings brands and audiences together through the power of premium video and advanced analytics. Hank is responsible for overseeing the daily business operations of the company including sales strategy and execution, product innovation and development, and data and research.
In 2002, Hank joined Comcast Spotlight to lead the development of the organization, including its overall sales strategy and operating structure. He played an integral role in the expansion of Comcast Spotlight’s footprint by forging interconnects with cable, satellite and telecommunications service providers, including Verizon, DIRECTV and DISH Network. The interconnect business practices established by Comcast Spotlight served as a model for the industry.
Throughout his tenure, Hank implemented a number of strategic business initiatives, positioning Comcast Spotlight at the forefront of the advertising industry. The company introduced groundbreaking video advertising products and services focused on delivering audiences and enhancing customer experience, including ad tag, ad copy, linear addressable, video on demand dynamic ad insertion addressable and nationally scalable advanced TV analytics.
An industry leader, Hank has more than 30 years of broadcast and cable experience. Prior to Comcast Spotlight, he was executive vice president and general manager of ADLINK Technology, where he managed the company’s sales and marketing, strategic alliances and Hispanic divisions. Hank also served as vice president, sales and programming for Johnson Broadcasting and vice president and director of sales for KHJ-TV (now KCAL-TV).
Hank sits on the Board of Directors for the Video Advertising Bureau and NCC Media, which is owned by Charter Communications, Comcast Corporation and Cox Communications. He resides with his family in the Los Angeles area.
