Lauren Leff

Vice President, Marketing & Communications

Lauren Leff serves as vice president, Marketing & Communications at VAB. As VAB’s first in-house strategic communications executive, Lauren works ardently advancing VAB’s mission to create a better understanding of the complex multiplatform video landscape for brand marketers.

Lauren is a media and marketing industry career professional having previously led PR and communications at cinema advertising network National CineMedia (NCM), MSNBC, CNBC, and Showtime Networks, as well as independent public relations agency teams representing Discovery, HGTV and Telemundo, among others. She was a member of the NBC and Microsoft executive team that successfully launched MSNBC and its companion website, MSNBC.com, when TV and online news first converged.

With her diverse public relations and communications background, you’ve probably guessed Lauren is a big fan of all forms of storytelling, whether it’s cinema, TV or through music. One of her favorite ventures was leading PR for a national U.S. blues tour, where she was privileged to work with several true-to-life guitar heroes. She had breakfast at the infamous Sunset Marquis Hotel with Grammy Award-winner Stevie Ray Vaughan and his brother, Jimmie; accompanied Rock and Roll Hall of Fame blues legend B.B. King and his prized companion, Lucille , on a NYC press tour; and, oversaw a photo shoot with Rock and Roll Hall of Fame blues titan Buddy Guy. She thought she’d died and gone to heaven when she finally saw King and Guy’s protégé, Eric Clapton (also a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee), perform live.
