We are looking for an Insights Associate, a Member & Marketing Associate, & an Insights Marketing Associate

What is VAB? 

We believe in inspiring marketers to think differently.

At our core, we are an insights-driven organization whose mission it is to help marketers make smarter, more educated media strategy decisions. How do we do it?  By writing and marketing insights content on a variety of topics marketers care about such as cross-platform measurement, video consumption behaviors, demographic trends, attribution, TV buying innovation, multicultural marketing, video streaming and device usage. We also develop & speak on panels, write op-eds, produce events and host webinars. Why do we do it?  We want to help advertisers solve their business challenges and drive overall brand growth.

Position Overview: Insights Analyst

We are looking for a bright, self-motivated individual to join our team at the VAB as an Insights Analyst. The team is responsible for uncovering strategic insights for the $70 billion multi-screen premium video industry to inspire marketers to think differently about their communications plans.

This is an exciting role at the VAB that is focused on assisting the Insights team in the development of unique, ‘leading edge’ strategic insights for the video advertising industry. VAB Insights live at the intersection of data and storytelling, we make numbers come alive by interpreting consumer, media and technology trends in a unique way and translating complex data into actionable insights. We are looking for someone to help us answer marketer’s toughest questions with innovative thinking, supporting facts and real-world takeaways. 

The position reports to the Insights Manager and is supported by two Associate Insights Directors and the SVP, Director of Strategic Insights. This role requires a superior attention to detail, a genuine curiosity for creating stories and the ability to think both creatively and analytically. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

VAB Insights is industry renowned for our best-in-class content and, as such, this role will have several key responsibilities:  

  • Media Detective. You are inherently curious and are willing to dig through a multitude of research sources and studies to find the ‘wow’ strategic insights that are unique to the VAB brand.
  • Strategist. You’ll analyze a variety of large datasets to understand how consumers view video across multiple platforms and devices such as TV, Streaming, OTT, Digital, Mobile, Social and Cinema. 
  • Culture Curator. You’ll identify and communicate consumer and industry trends and patterns in data mined from our research tools and external resources
  • Creator. You’ll work directly with the Insights Manager and Associate Insights Directors to create data-driven insights content and analyses which are presented and shared with the entire advertising and media industry
  • Storyteller. You’ll work with the Insights Manager and Associate Insights Directors to craft story-led narratives from the data uncovered from our multitude of sources (research tools, internal / external resources, custom studies, etc.)
  • Collaborator. You’ll work with the Insights team to develop ideas for insights content (reports, infographics, etc.) and presentations. 

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of previous exposure and/or experience in the advertising, media, television, streaming or digital industry; prior advertising agency experience preferred and previous exposure to modern video measurement solutions is a plus 
  • Basic understanding of the advertising and media industry; prior experience within the video advertising ecosystem preferred
  • Genuine interest in popular culture – specifically TV and streaming shows and services, digital content and movies
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy with solid organizational skills
  • Quick learner, multi-tasker, time manager in order to successfully navigate multiple projects simultaneously
  • Self-motivator with the ability to thrive independently and as part of a larger cross-functional team
  • Computer fluency (Microsoft Office products); experience with industry tools such as Nielsen NPower, Comscore, MRI-Simmons is preferred 
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher

Position Overview: Membership & Marketing Associate

We are looking to add a new role to our growing team join at the VAB to help maintain and drive visibility of VAB’s members and brand, and our work within the marketing and advertising industry.

This is an exciting role at the VAB that will allow you to showcase and hone your business development, member relations, and marketing skills. This role supports sales efforts through new business prospecting and execution of current member activations, through tasks such as developing sales materials, building partnership wrap-ups as well as new business fact-finding and research. These responsibilities coincide with the support of partner marketing efforts including email marketing, social campaigns, event execution and promotion, and analysis projects. We need a bright-minded team player and skilled communicator who is process-driven with strong organizational skills, attention to detail (very important!) and sense of accountability. The responsibilities of this position will be approximately 60% VAB member relations and 40% marketing and it reports into the VP Business Development and the Activations Marketing Manager.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Bring our exciting events to life: You’ll play an important role in our industry-loved VAB programs (events, theme weeks, webinars, and other activations). 
    • You’ll help our new business team by developing clear and compelling sponsorship materials (one-sheets) outlining partnership opportunities.
    • You’ll work with marketing to help execute and promote these programs (email marketing, social media, webinar development/editing).
    • You’ll develop wrap-up summaries (graphics, post-metrics) to share with our sponsors & partners.
  • Calling all detectives! You’ll help identify potential VAB members through research (reading the trades, social media, etc) and other company fact-finding.
  • Welcome new members to the VAB community. You’ll set up new members within the VAB ecosystem by listing them on the website, setting up for billing and invoicing.
  • Our members get many benefits. You’ll maintain our benefits database to help our team ensure they are delivered on. 
  • Track our success. We strive to continually improve, and so we take the time to evaluate our programs, campaigns and activations. Put your analytic skills to work by evaluating our paid media partnerships, social media campaigns, email marketing, webinar metrics and more. You’ll help shape how we go to market in the future.
  • We redesigned our website! You’ll be responsible for helping to keep the website updated and fresh through back-end CMS logistics, building landing pages for our activations, and maintaining & organizing website content weekly.
  • VAB leaders are among the most influential in our industry. You’ll help promote our speaking appearances, sponsored conferences, or other activations on our website, through email marketing and social media.
  • Get your creative juices flowing. You’ll help design marketing materials such as emails, social media graphics for VAB activities and partnerships.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years minimum of professional experience within the marketing/advertising industry, preferably video advertising.
  • Experience in either marketing or ad sales/member support/client success.
  • Must have a self-starter mentality, possess time-management skills for juggling numerous time-sensitive projects simultaneously.
  • Must have graphic design experience- knowledge of Illustrator & PowerPoint is a must (and Photoshop and Canva a plus!)
  • Basic Knowledge of website management systems/CMS, very basic HTML a plus.
  • Must be process-driven, collaborative with unwavering organizational skills, pay meticulous attention to details along with a strong sense of accountability.
  • Creative writing skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Position Overview: Insights Marketing Associate

We are looking for an Insights Marketing Associate to join our team at the VAB to help drive visibility of VAB and our work within the marketing and advertising industry.

This is an exciting role at the VAB that is focused on helping the team communicate key messages to the marketing industry through earned, owned and paid initiatives. This role will include both marketing and social media responsibilities. The position is part of the VAB Marketing & Communications team, reporting to the Insights Marketing Manager and VP of Marketing & Partnerships. We need a bright-minded marketer and skilled communicator who is process-driven with strong organizational skills, attention to detail (very important!) and sense of accountability. The responsibilities of this position will be approximately 80% marketing and 20% social.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • VAB Insights content is industry renowned. You’ll help promote this content by assisting in developing marketing plans (paid partnerships, social campaigns, etc.).
  • Get your creative juices flowing. You’ll help create marketing materials such as emails, sponsorship/ad campaign graphics and social media assets.
  • We just redesigned our website! You’ll have ideas to keep the website relevant, current and timely each week.
  • VAB has the ear of the most influential leaders in our industry. You’ll help manage our marketing database and conduct email data analysis for marketing automation.
  • Track our success. We strive to continually improve, and so we take the time to evaluate our programs, Insights content releases, campaigns and activations. Put your analytic skills to work by evaluating our paid media partnerships, social media campaigns, email marketing, and more. You’ll help shape how we go to market in the future.
  • Let’s get Social. You’ll help promote our VAB Insights on LinkedIn and Twitter (organic and paid social efforts)
    • Help execute paid social campaigns from end to end, create graphics, assist in tracking & evaluating performance
    • Help build and grow social media presence - drive brand awareness, signups to our website and downloads to VAB content

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years minimum of professional experience, from media or marketing/advertising industry
  • Have strong interest and knowledge of the advertising industry, specifically, the video advertising landscape.
  • Be familiar with VAB Insights and be comfortable working with research, data & analytics
  • Must have an understanding of social ecosystem, paid social strategy and audience targeting
  • Understanding of Google analytics is a huge plus.
  • Must have a self-starter mentality, possess time-management skills for juggling numerous time-sensitive projects simultaneously.
  • Must have graphic design experience- knowledge of Illustrator & PowerPoint is a must (and Photoshop and Canva a plus!).
  • Basic Knowledge of website management systems/CMS, very basic HTML a plus.
  • Experience optimizing for SEO/SEM a plus, not required.
  • Must be process-driven, collaborative with unwavering organizational skills, pay meticulous attention to details along with a strong sense of accountability
