We are looking for a VP, Industry Solutions to help VAB usher in a new era of measurement choice and competition in the $65+ billion multiscreen TV marketplace.

What is VAB?

We believe in inspiring marketers to think differently.

At our core, we are an insights-driven organization whose mission it is to help marketers make smarter, more educated media strategy decisions. How do we do it?  By writing and marketing insights content on a variety of topics marketers care about such as cross-platform measurement, video consumption behaviors, demographic trends, attribution, TV buying innovation, multicultural marketing, video streaming and device usage. We also develop & speak on panels, write op-eds, produce events and host webinars. Why do we do it?  We want to help advertisers solve their business challenges and drive overall brand growth.

Position Overview: VP, Industry Solutions

Looking for an opportunity to help transform the TV Industry?

After leading one of the most impactful and visible measurement initiatives of 2021, we launched the VAB Innovation Task Force, formalizing our efforts to modernize TV measurement and shape the new currency.

We are looking to hire a decisive, high-level strategic thinker who will work with our Task Force, a group of smart, collaborative senior-level researchers, to determine the best path to success for each project.

Our Task Force is a select group of the most senior research publisher and distributor leaders in the industry. These leaders will help us set priorities, establish working groups and tackle each issue through a data-driven approach. To ensure we are offering a full market solution, beyond VAB members, working groups could also include measurement providers, brand marketers, agency executives, etc.

Although a base level of TV research knowledge is necessary, this role focuses on utilizing analysis from the Task Force / working groups to create actionable takeaways and a market facing narrative.

This newly created position offers a rare opportunity to foster senior level relationships across every aspect of the TV ecosystem: brand marketers, agencies, measurement providers, publishers, distributors, and industry organizations.

We are looking for a consensus builder who has an innovative mindset and can see multiple solutions to an issue.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Help shape the agenda. Work with CEO & EVP to establish and set priorities and governance for Task Force working groups.
  • See the forest, not the trees. You’ll work with the CEO & EVP to use the data, inputs, and advice provided by the Task Force working groups to shape a GTM industry narrative.
  • Keep the train moving. Manage all project and deadlines within the Task Force, creating long and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines.
  • Build consensus. Smooth friction points to achieve a unified stance on issues.
  • Look for solutions. Liase with key stakeholders including measurement providers, data & analytics companies, etc, leaning into quality innovation in the TV measurement space.
  • Track our success. Collaborate with CEO & EVP to establish short and long-term success metrics, connecting granular tasks to longer term objectives.
  • Stay focused. Make effective decisions when presented with multiple options and opinions in a time-crunched, fast-paced environment.

Required Experience:

  • 8-10 years minimum of professional experience, within the media or marketing/advertising industry
  • Must have a solid understanding of TV measurement (note: you don’t have to be a research guru; data & analysis will be provided by Task Force)
  • Must have previous experience building a simple, strategic narrative from data or insights
  • Must have previous experience where a high level of organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills were necessary
  • Must have experience communicating with senior level executives both virtually and in-person
  • Must have a self-starter mentality and be able to thrive independently and as part of a larger cross-functional team. Previous startup experience a plus.
