We are looking for a Marketing & Social Media Junior Associate to join our team at VAB to help drive visibility of VAB and our work within the marketing and advertising industry.

Position Overview: Marketing & Social Media Junior Associate

This is an exciting role at the VAB that is focused on helping the team communicate key messages to the marketing industry through earned, owned and paid initiatives. This role will include both marketing and social media responsibilities. The position is part of the VAB Marketing & Communications team, reporting to the Marketing and Social Media Manager and supported by the VP of Marketing & Partnerships. We need a bright-minded marketer and skilled communicator who is process-driven with strong organizational skills, attention to detail (very important!) and sense of accountability. The responsibilities of this position will be approximately 75% marketing and 25% social.  

Primary Responsibilities:

  • VAB Insights content is industry renowned. You’ll be helping to execute marketing plans that help to drive awareness and downloads of this best-in-class content.
  • We just redesigned our website! Under the guidance of the marketing team, you’ll be responsible for keeping the website continually updated through back-end CMS logistics, build landing pages, maintain and organize website content weekly.
  • VAB has the ear of the most influential leaders in our industry. You’ll assist in managing our email database and work within MailChimp to set up and execute email campaigns - also conduct email data analysis for marketing automation.
  • Help bring our exciting programs to life. You’ll work with the marketing team to coordinate internal VAB programs and external initiatives including webinars, events, podcasts, conferences, etc. by helping to execute promotions, registrations, recordings, editing & distribution.
  • Track our success. You’ll pull and analyze data & generate reports to see how we’re doing on our KPIs.
  • Get your creative juices flowing. You’ll create marketing materials, presentations, event marketing & sponsorship graphics and social media assets for VAB activities and partnerships.
  • Let’s get Social.
    • Help manage social calendar to schedule and organize content across LinkedIn and Twitter.
    • Assist with paid social campaigns from end to end – campaign set-up, understand algorithms to identify KPIs, perform day-to-day maintenance, optimization, pacing analysis, and track & evaluate performance
    • Help build and grow social media presence by creating unique and compelling content that drives brand awareness, signups to our website and downloads to VAB content  

Required Experience       

  • 1-2 years minimum of professional experience, from media or marketing/advertising industry.
  • Have strong interest and knowledge of the advertising industry and, specifically, the video advertising landscape.
  • Be comfortable working with research, data & analytics.
  • Must have a self-starter mentality and be able to thrive independently and as part of a larger cross-functional team.
  • Must have an understanding of social ecosystem, paid social strategy, ad formats, audience targeting, budgeting and tracking.
  • Graphic design experience- knowledge of Illustrator is a must (and photoshop a plus!).
  • Must possess time-management skills for juggling numerous time-sensitive projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of email marketing platforms and website management programs/CMS preferred.
